What Is a Garage Door Spring?

A garage door spring is a tightly wound coil of metal designed to counterbalance the weight of a garage door, making it much easier to open and close either manually or with an automatic opener. We had a Baby Shower today and all I did was open the door at 11:39 am to sweep. Door falls apart and we tried not too. Off its hinges on 2 sides, baby-shower-catastrophe…I thought it was early enough and called 3 companies to repair. 1 promised me to stop by and the other 2 said NO WAY. Needless to say, 1 company calls back in one hour and cancelled. I was desperate but what to do? I got on Google maps this time for a different list of repair companies. I called this one and they answered right away. Were professional. NO promises-they just showed up and repaired the door. They were great and thank you for being available on Saturday. The Best!
